During the first year, there were 33 students in grades 1 through 12 with a staff of 6. At that time, the student enrollment was 80% from living waters church and 20% from other area churches.

Due to rapid growth, it became necessary for Living Waters Christian School to add additional classrooms and office space. This additional space included twelve classrooms, an annex building and three portable classrooms.

In 1999, the church and school set forth a plan that would allow the school to achieve independence and establish its own identity. Subsequently, the school's name was changed to Cornerstone Christian Academy that was then governed by a board consisting of Christian leaders throughout the community.

At then end of the 2002 school year, 85% of the student enrollment represented over 50 area churches. The remaining 15% came from Living Waters Church, giving us a community Christian school with a student population of 192 students.

In the summer of 2003, the school had to move to accommodate its growing numbers. Cornerstone built a 25,000 square foot building just a couple miles down from where it all began.

In 2004, again feeling the need for more space, and through God's grace, the school added an additional wing allowing up to 10,000 additional square feet. The school has completed the lower level for the 2004-2005 year adding an additional 5,000 square feet of classrooms. As the school continues to grow, there is an additional 5,000 square feet on the upper level of the new addition that can be finished.

In March 2006, Cornerstone received full accreditation by the Association of Christian Schools International [ACSI].
